Up for sale is a set of 1960's Bata Bullets High Top Basketball Sneakers - Washington Baltimore Bullets
I do not see any size marking on them anywhere, but I am guessing they are around size 9 or so.
These may even be pre Bata Bullets as they are not marked as such but have the "BB" sole marking. As they have a real natural rubber sole, they are pretty stiff at this point. I understand this is pretty easy to rectify by either heating or soaking in a solution of silicone spray (among other methods). I am not gonna do this, and will leave it to the buyer to do with as they please. See pics for contents and condition.
The original Bullets franchise was founded in 1944 as a member of the American Basketball League. The Bata Bullet sneaker, made in nearby Belcamp, Maryland, was named for the NBA team in 1964. Bata was founded in 1894 in the current Czech Republic. The Harford County factory opened in the 1930s and soon became a haven for Czechs fleeing Nazi-dominated Europe. "Bata Bullets were chosen for professional use by the Baltimore Bullets of the N.B.A." The Bullets team was formed in 1961 as the Chicago Packers and are known today as the Washington Wizards.
